NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano, is an art and design Academy. Founded in 1980, it is the largest and most innovative private Academy in Italy, and the first being recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). NABA offers first and second level academic degrees in the fields of art and design, which comply with Bologna Agreements and are therefore recognized in Italy and the world over.

Programs and specificities

NABA offers a wide range of programs to meet the needs of international art and design students, giving them the chance to express their interest in project culture and artistic experimentation. NABA program curricula include various kinds of training activities, individual and class work so as to offer a wide range of critical, methodological and operative skills that are necessary to develop autonomous research and an ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Next to undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses, NABA offers Summer Courses and Semester Abroad Programs in English that provide credits accepted by the US academic system.

An international Academy

With students from almost 50 different countries, the NABA community benefits from a broad diversity of cultures and ideas. But students at NABA also benefit from our reach beyond our Italian home. NABA participates in exchange programs with art and design universities throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia and the United States and collaborates with prestigious foreign institutions- In late 2009, NABA became part of Laureate International Universities, a global network of more than 50 accredited institutions offering undergraduate and graduate degrees to over 600,000 students around the world.

Internships and placement of young graduates

NABA Internship and Placement Office helps students in choosing external collaborations and monitors the job placement of the Academy graduates. NABA has enabled agreements with well-known associations and companies, such as The Swatch Group, Leo Burnett, Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani, Trussardi, McCann Erickson, Form Content London, Sotheby's Italia, Valentino Fashion Group, Fondazione Teatro alla Scala, Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, Mediaset, Studio Italo Rota & Partners.


Students wishing to enroll in one of NABA three-year Bachelor of Arts degrees are required to: - Hold a secondary school diploma that is validated by the Italian diplomatic authority in the student's home country and that is recognized as equivalent to the Italian secondary school diploma awarded after a period of study lasting at least 12 years. - Pass the NABA admission exam, offered either on-line or on-site. Additional English Pathway Requirements: - TOEFL average of 500 or higher or IELTS 5.0 Additional Italian Pathway Requirements: - Demonstrate proficiency in the Italian language - level B1 International students applying for NABA MA programs must hold an academic diploma or a bachelor degree in an artistic or humanities subject. Students who hold a different degree or diploma may also apply for admission if they have a creative or communication interest related to the program they are applying for.
